READING
Reading this year in Fourth grade will be with Mr. Nelson. We will be learning many things in reading this year. To help us, we will use Reading Wonders. Reading Wonders is divided into six units, with each unit having five weeks of lessons. A week of lessons will take us roughly six days to complete. At the beginning of each new week, a reading newsletter will be sent home and uploaded to this site. This newsletter will contain the spelling and vocabulary words for the week and concepts for the week.

MathThis year in math, Ms. Cuchna will be teaching math to all fourth graders. We will be working with Everyday Math.
We will be learning many new topics. We will learn about decimals, fractions, multiplication, division, graphs, and data analysis, to name a few topics. It is very important to know all basic math facts. Once a student can automatically recall the answers to basic math facts, other math concepts come easier. There are many apps and websites students can use to practice and master basic math facts. |
ScienceWe will be learning about Rocks and Minerals, Energy, Electricity, Magnets, The Water Cycle, States of Matter, and Measurement this year in science. To aid in our learning, we will have the opportunity to complete a number of different activities and projects to make our learning engaging. |
Social StudiesThis year, we will be studying the Regions of the United States. The regions are the Southeast, Northeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West. With each region, we will be learning about each region, this includes the states and capitals for each state. The regions are listed in the order we will learn them.
